| Definition of Disaster Nursing |
| Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA) defines disaster nursing as the systematic and flexible utilization and development of disaster-response-and-preparation-related nursing knowledge and skills in order to integrate related resources with relevant specialties, reduce comprehensively the impacts of disaster incidents on health and life, and promote the timely restoration of public and community health. |

| 災難護理的角色在於因應災難相關的健康促進、照護、復原之政策擬訂、機制管理、資訊蒐集與教育研究。災難護理的功能是針對災難前、中、後期各年齡層的個人、家庭、團體和社區提供自主性和協同性的照護，包括健康促進、疾病預防、傷害病痛照護、和身心靈復原重建。 |

| Role and Function of Disaster Nursing |
| The role of disaster nursing is to develop policies, manage mechanisms, collect information, conduct research, and provide education related to health promotion, nursing care, and recovery in the context of disaster incidents. The function of disaster nursing is to provide autonomous and coordinated care for individuals of all ages, families, groups, and communities before, during, and after disasters, including but not limited to health promotion; disease prevention; injury and illness care; and physical, psychological, and spiritual recovery. |
